MR. HERB JEFFRIES known as "MR. FLAMINGO" for having recorded
the tune for Duke Ellington in 1940.  The song broke all records jump
starting Herb's amazing vocal career!  He has recorded "Flamingo" several
times since and has sold more than 40 million copies... and still counting!!

Herb is also known as "The Bronze Buckaroo" for having created the first
black singing cowboy character in a series of western films in the late 1930's.
He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame a few years ago, for
his contribution to the development of actors of color in main-stream pictures.

Well into his 90's, Herb's luscious, velvety baritone voice is just as
mesmerizing now as it ever was... AND... he's booked 2 years in advance!!!

We, of the California Pop & Jazz Council are proud to be able to present
Mr. Jeffries with our "Dini" award, as are our guest performers; Clark
Burroughs, The Reel Cowboys, Mike Mann & Cowboy Soul, and so many
others.   All are extremely excited to be part of the evenings festivities to
Honor the amazing Mr. Herb Jeffries.
